Style of Middle-earth

"We are truth-speakers, we men of Gondor. We seldom boast, and then perform, or die in the attempt." In my opinion, the Battle of the Pelennor Fields is the best portion of the epic story thus far. There is something so gripping, so thrilling, about seeing the progression from before the battle, exploring besieged Minas Tirith, riding around the different portions of Pelennor during the battle, and walking around after-battle Minas Tirith. I think the way the developers handled telling the story of one of the largest battles in Minas Tirith was absolutely breathtaking. And thats when and why I knew I wanted to take screenshots for this outfit in besieged Minas Tirith. In an all black outfit, with a mix of leather and metal, it fits in with the dark, foreboding skies of the battle stricken city, and the fire and ruin throughout each tier. Some of the screenshots are dark, yes, but I really needed something so dark and intimidating to really capture this outfit. ...

It's been such a joy as of late to working on outfits again. Nowadays, whether I'm running dailies or doing quests or really doing anything in game, I'm constantly thinking about what sort of outfits I could do inspired by the region I'm in, or what sort of screenshots I could take. When I took my blog hiatus I focused so much on getting a character to cap (which I was able to do.. twice), and then gearing said characters for end game content. Even though both characters aren't tier 2 ready yet, it's been very fun having different things to work on in game, not just leveling and gearing.  This outfit is fully based around the absolutely beautiful Draigoch cloak my friend and fellow cosmetic blogger Nathrien so kindly gifted me.  In comparison to the cloak, I wanted everything else to be simple, or at least I tried.  For sometime now, I have been wanting to do an outfit inspired by each class in the game. As the hunter is one of the most played classes, I thought it was fitting that I started with this class. The main idea and inspiration behind this outfit was green, Rivendell green to be exact, and gold. The grass in the hills of the Hidden Valley is green, and the leaves of the trees are gold, though they are a different shade then the Mallorns found in Caras Galadhon.  With my never ending love of hauberks, this hauberk was chosen, and as it also has gold stitching throughout, it was a good chest/leg piece. The boots and gloves both dyed well, and had lovely gold accents to them, so they complimented the gold in the hauberk.  When I think of the word hunter, I think something hidden, so the large head piece was fitting.  Firstly, I want to apologize for having this up late. I didn't get the screenshots taken until late last night, so that put me behind schedule. It has been some months since I did the last part in my region series of outfits. I'm hoping to one day create an outfit for all of the regions of Eriador, and then move on to Rhovanion. I knew I wanted the base colors to be browns and greys. Even though Bree is a very beautiful region, the city is very simple in its colors, and I wanted to reflect that in the outfit. The hauberk/armour used in this outfit is a favorite of mine. It has leather and metal in it, and it dyes quite nicely. The shoulder-guards were easily chosen, as the brown in them matches the browns in the lower part of the hauberk, and it is quite a simple piece.  Simple boots and gloves were added, the gloves of a musty grey color, and the boots brown with white. I finished off with a piece from the Bree-land barter, a backpack, and a simple, metal ...

I had an idea for an outfit that was brown and woody, but gave off the feel of being fit for a lore-master, someone who loves the trees and nature in general. I had also been having an itch to use the cape for sometime now, but I couldn't find pieces and an outfit to pair it with. It turns out the outfit idea, one with trees, and the cape, went well together. I started off the with the robe. I wanted to work with it, even with the intricacy of the design inlaid into the fabric, it was also simple enough. I finally realized the cape would work well with the robe, as they were both flowy, had blues and yellows, and both had some runes and inscriptions on them. The circlet worked perfectly, as it had leaves in it, and gave the impression it was made out of woven twigs. I want to thank Nathrien over at Material Middle-earth for gifting it to me!  The idea behind this outfit is a rich townsperson, someone who has money to spare, and time to give. In the words of my brother, "the outfit looks like it is for someone who is going to trade stocks".  For the female version of the outfit, I chose the dress, as when dyed white, it turned into a rich grey color, and didn't look too wintry. The shoulder guards added a very expensive feel to the outfit, and I finished off with a fancy and regal circlet.  I've considered doing a male/female outfit for sometime now, but it has taken me quite sometime to find pieces that complimented one another while staying true to the suggested gender. I finally decided that two Extravagant pieces from a Yule festival quest line would work perfectly, along with the Gwir-palvais shoulders.  The region of Angmar is filled with foul and horrible creatures; cargul, spiders, wargs, trolls... and much more. Carn Dum is the epitome of that evil. It is a dark place, with a poison green sky and foul air.  There are few who are brave enough to adventure into the dark of Carn Dum, but those who do are those who hold the evil at bay. I started off the with hauberk, which has a grey, black, and a yellowy-gold base. It has a very unique chest design, and that's what caught my eye in it. I then added the gloves and boots, both of which are fit for combat, and are black. The boots do have a small dagger placed on the side, for use if needed. The circlet is one of my favorite in-game, but usually it is so exspensive in the Auction Hall. I was lucky enough to find a cheap one, and I snatched it up quickly.  Sometime ago, I made and posted an outfit titled Ranger of Smoke & Flame , and I now decided to make a follow up outfit, for the ranger who protects the colder areas of the world. This outfit features a base of grey and white, with subtle browns as highlights, which is good for blending in with snow, frozen ground, and wintry trees. I began with the helmet. Acquired from a Dunland epic quest, this helm features a cloth base, with a metal plated face-piece. The hauberk features grey, white, and browns, with stitching, chainmail, and belts. The shoulder guards features browns, with a bit of grey, and a very unique pattern. I finished off the outfit with simple chainmail gloves and a pair of platesteel boots. No matter what part of Middle-earth I adventure into, there continues to be one place that is my favorite location: Edoras. Edoras happens to be the capitol city of my favorite region of Middle-earth, and it is my opinion that LoTRO did justice to the beauty of the Mark. The robe in this outfit is my absolute favorite robe I've ever come across in-game. The design of it is flawless, and there is nothing I can say other than that it is a simply gorgeous robe. After the robe, I decided to use gold and silver as my colors. I thus chose a lovely silver circlet (though it is not fully a circlet..) and then went on to choose one of the best pair of shoulder guards in game (in my opinion.) It has recently come to my attention that a fellow cosmetic blogger posted an outfit recently (but before I posted this) that has the same name. I and my kinship did not realize this when we named this outfit. I would like to extend a very large thank you to Keldarah of Gladden for taking time away from playing the new update 14 content to let me take photos of her outfit. I would also like the thank my kinmates, the players of Rangers of the West kinship, for name suggestions for this outfit!   For quite sometime now, it has been a wish and a want of mine to feature other players designed outfits on my blog. The reason for that is quite simple: not every player who enjoys cosmetics wishes, wants, or has time to maintain a cosmetic blog.
