Style of Middle-earth

 Rohan is and always be one of my favorite regions in all of Middle-earth, with its open plains and gorgeous skies. The Sutcrofts is a region that really encompasses all of the things that I love about Rohan. The fields are so very green, with large bushes and trees, and a sky of the most gorgeous color.  I've always loved the hauberk that came with the Helm's Deep expansion purchase, with its white horse emblem, the dark green background, and the bits of chainmail. I wanted simple shoulders and gloves that would also give a very warrior-like look and feel, besides giving the main attention to the chest piece.  I wanted a statement cape, as that isn't something I use much, and with the man killing an orc on the back of it, it is indeed a statement piece. The boots were warlike and a strong finishing piece. A kinmate has recently been requesting that I made a few warsteed pairings, so I decided to put one that I made on beta with this outfit!  For sometime now, I have been wanting to do an outfit inspired by each class in the game. As the hunter is one of the most played classes, I thought it was fitting that I started with this class. The main idea and inspiration behind this outfit was green, Rivendell green to be exact, and gold. The grass in the hills of the Hidden Valley is green, and the leaves of the trees are gold, though they are a different shade then the Mallorns found in Caras Galadhon.  With my never ending love of hauberks, this hauberk was chosen, and as it also has gold stitching throughout, it was a good chest/leg piece. The boots and gloves both dyed well, and had lovely gold accents to them, so they complimented the gold in the hauberk.  When I think of the word hunter, I think something hidden, so the large head piece was fitting. Recently on beta testing for update 14.2, I headed into Lalia's to make an outfit for one of my characters. I didn't really have a plan or idea for the outfit, but as I began assembling pieces, the outfit began to take on a specific feel and look. I realized I had been picking pieces that were, well, a bit mismatched, but mismatched in a good way. Some of the pieces have perhaps more of a armour feel, while others look almost velvety, and finally others are just more simple. I chose the robe first, as I had been wanting to use this robe for sometime now, and then started adding pieces that complimented the shades of black, grey, and cream. The gloves and shoulders were chosen because they both dyed well, and gave a velveteen look, and complimented the black in the bottom of the robe.  It was a gorgeous evening in Rohan as I rode my war-steed into Edoras. I had been planning on taking screenshots somewhere in Rohan with the outfit I had ready, but I didn’t know exactly where and when to take these screenshots. It was dusk, and it was the absolutely perfect time to be taking screenshots, especially with the outfit. This outfit was made with some imput from my younger brother, or else I probably wouldn’t have included a helmet in the outfit. my favorite screenshot to date.  This outfit was completely made using pieces that were in Lalia’s Market in June 2014. My brother chose the helm, and that is the piece that I based the whole outfit around. The colors of this outfit are gold, walnut brown, and umber. The helmet is extremely unique in design, with curled horn like spikes on the top, and plate metal (or gold?) on the cheeks. While questing in Western Rohan during beta, I came across a town called Morton. This town is located just across the Fords of Isen, and it had been pillaged and burned. I hadn't before been planning on taking screenshots for the outfit I had created in this town, but suddenly the black and grey outfit seemed to make this man of Rohan apart of the town.  Since that time, I had written a sob story of a role-play background for this man of Rohan, featuring him mourning for the loss of his village. For this outfit, I started with a base of black and grey. The chest piece happens to have one of my favorite hauberk skins (and you should know my endless love of hauberks), featuring buckles and belts. The gauntlets were fingerless, with a metal base, buckles, and small daggers on them. The shoulders are hardy and ready for war, and are of an incredible design. No matter what part of Middle-earth I adventure into, there continues to be one place that is my favorite location: Edoras. Edoras happens to be the capitol city of my favorite region of Middle-earth, and it is my opinion that LoTRO did justice to the beauty of the Mark. The robe in this outfit is my absolute favorite robe I've ever come across in-game. The design of it is flawless, and there is nothing I can say other than that it is a simply gorgeous robe. After the robe, I decided to use gold and silver as my colors. I thus chose a lovely silver circlet (though it is not fully a circlet..) and then went on to choose one of the best pair of shoulder guards in game (in my opinion.) I finished off with a incredible and detailed pair of gauntlets, and a pair of simple boots. "Marshwarden? What in the world is a marshwarden? Do you mean march-warden, like Haldir?" Given the location of these screenshots, and the fact that this little hobbit is a warden, I decided to use this lovely play on words.  I bring you the first of a couple outfits from beta - and to be extremely honest, I'm crazy proud of this one. I think it is one of my best outfits yet, and I'm very sad I don't have this outfit on live. Whilst on beta, I took advantage of the large amounts of turbine points and mithril coins to purchase pieces of outfits I would usually never buy.  After picking out the chest and legs, I started choosing pieces that complimented the white, red, and brown. The circlet was easily chosen, and then I added the gauntlets. They feature brown bands, and with red dye, they matched perfectly. The shoulderguards were brown, and the simplicity caught my eye. The intro... the only time you're under level 95.  Today is a very important day in my time as a LOTRO player. Today is marked as my first day ever testing (and playing) Lord of the Rings Online Beta. So here are my thoughts, comments, and more about LOTRO beta. I started off by creating a "version" of Makaia, at least the Bullroarer version of her. I named her Mak, and this Mak looked almost identical to live Makaia. All in all, the intro and getting into the Eyes & Guard Tavern was fairly simple. The super quick and easy auto-leveling was quite fun, and I had a little too much fun watching myself hit level 95 for the first time, though I know the feeling will be nothing like actually hitting level 95 on live.
