Bleak as Winter - Region Series Part V

Image
When I was posting on this blog on a consistent basis, the  Region Series  was my favorite series I've ever worked on. I also had two other series' on this blog,  Crafted Sets with Cosmetic Value  and  Matching A Steed , but the region series was truly my favorite. There's something so magical about taking a region, an entire region, and trying to form an outfit inspired by that region. It is truly a difficult task. Every single region is so unique and diverse, and while it may maintain the same general feel, every single village or homestead within that region each has its own flair. It's odd that I chose Wildermore as the region to bring back this series with. All in all, it is one of my least favorite regions in the game. It is beautiful, yes, but it is incredibly desolate and forlorn. Even Forochel, just as snowy and bleak, has more activity and homeliness to it than Wildermore does.  I began this outfit with the shoulders; I was oh so close ...

One with the Road - Region Series Part IV

Firstly, I want to apologize for having this up late. I didn't get the screenshots taken until late last night, so that put me behind schedule. It has been some months since I did the last part in my region series of outfits. I'm hoping to one day create an outfit for all of the regions of Eriador, and then move on to Rhovanion. I knew I wanted the base colors to be browns and greys. Even though Bree is a very beautiful region, the city is very simple in its colors, and I wanted to reflect that in the outfit. The hauberk/armour used in this outfit is a favorite of mine. It has leather and metal in it, and it dyes quite nicely. The shoulder-guards were easily chosen, as the brown in them matches the browns in the lower part of the hauberk, and it is quite a simple piece.  Simple boots and gloves were added, the gloves of a musty grey color, and the boots brown with white. I finished off with a piece from the Bree-land barter, a backpack, and a simple, metal ...

Of the Quiet Path - Region Series Part III

Image
The land of Evendim is a large percentage water, and from water comes so many uncountable shades of blue, white, gray, and green, and depending on the light, even gold. I'm continuing my region inspired series with one of my all time favorite regions of Middle-earth: Evendim. Evendim is just so... beautiful. With the majestic ruins, the almost endless lake, and the pure beauty of the region, it is nearly impossible for the region to not fill you with awe. This outfit sprung out of the water, not literally, but figuratively. The colors and flowing nature of the outfit was inspired by the soft lap of the waves on the shore. I started off this outfit with only two pieces, the cloak and the hauberk. I loved how well they went together color-wise, and how the soft lines of gold matched the other pieces almost perfectly. Then, it was time for me to start a search: a search to find the perfect pieces to compliment a perfect pair. The boots were chosen next, mainly because of th...

Friend of the North - Region Series Part II

Image
Forochel has been a favorite region of mine for quite a while now - minus the frostbite causing water - and I like it because it is one of the few regions in Middle-earth that are completely covered in snow. From the people, to the landscape, to the monsters, it is very unique and interesting. The capitol of this frozen wasteland, Suri-kyla, rests in the northern part of the region, and boasts quite a lot of color to make up for the bleak and drab color of its surroundings. It has tons of blues and oranges, and loads of brown wood and such.  Generally speaking, this is my second outfit based off of a region. The first region based outfit was based off Angmar, and the link is right here. I enjoyed making that outfit, and I heartily enjoyed making this outfit, so I have decided to make it as series!  This outfit highlights all of the colors in Suri-kyla, starting with the browns and oranges of the buildings. The cloak, gloves, boots, shoulders, and sections ...

Vanquisher of Shadow - Region Series Part I

“War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.”  Angmar is a sad, depressing, dark area of Middle-earth. Evil has leaked out from Carn Dum, and has begun to spill into the surrounding lands as well, as the Witch King of Angmar continues his evil. I used to hate to head into Angmar for exactly the reason of how evil an area of Middle-earth is was, but now I have discovered that I actually like it more than I used to. This outfit could alternatively be named "Angmar", because Angmar is the main inspiration for this outfit. The brown dyes signify the dark, bleak, and desolate colors and landscape, and the bit of red in the outfit (the cape) represents the evil of Carn Dum. I was looking for a good breastplate for this outfit and I realized the perfect one was sitting right under my...
