Style of Middle-earth

"We are truth-speakers, we men of Gondor. We seldom boast, and then perform, or die in the attempt." In my opinion, the Battle of the Pelennor Fields is the best portion of the epic story thus far. There is something so gripping, so thrilling, about seeing the progression from before the battle, exploring besieged Minas Tirith, riding around the different portions of Pelennor during the battle, and walking around after-battle Minas Tirith. I think the way the developers handled telling the story of one of the largest battles in Minas Tirith was absolutely breathtaking. And thats when and why I knew I wanted to take screenshots for this outfit in besieged Minas Tirith. In an all black outfit, with a mix of leather and metal, it fits in with the dark, foreboding skies of the battle stricken city, and the fire and ruin throughout each tier. Some of the screenshots are dark, yes, but I really needed something so dark and intimidating to really capture this outfit. ...

When I was posting on this blog on a consistent basis, the  Region Series  was my favorite series I've ever worked on. I also had two other series' on this blog,  Crafted Sets with Cosmetic Value  and  Matching A Steed , but the region series was truly my favorite. There's something so magical about taking a region, an entire region, and trying to form an outfit inspired by that region. It is truly a difficult task. Every single region is so unique and diverse, and while it may maintain the same general feel, every single village or homestead within that region each has its own flair. It's odd that I chose Wildermore as the region to bring back this series with. All in all, it is one of my least favorite regions in the game. It is beautiful, yes, but it is incredibly desolate and forlorn. Even Forochel, just as snowy and bleak, has more activity and homeliness to it than Wildermore does.  I began this outfit with the shoulders; I was oh so close ...

 Rohan is and always be one of my favorite regions in all of Middle-earth, with its open plains and gorgeous skies. The Sutcrofts is a region that really encompasses all of the things that I love about Rohan. The fields are so very green, with large bushes and trees, and a sky of the most gorgeous color.  I've always loved the hauberk that came with the Helm's Deep expansion purchase, with its white horse emblem, the dark green background, and the bits of chainmail. I wanted simple shoulders and gloves that would also give a very warrior-like look and feel, besides giving the main attention to the chest piece.  I wanted a statement cape, as that isn't something I use much, and with the man killing an orc on the back of it, it is indeed a statement piece. The boots were warlike and a strong finishing piece. A kinmate has recently been requesting that I made a few warsteed pairings, so I decided to put one that I made on beta with this outfit!  Firstly, I want to apologize for having this up late. I didn't get the screenshots taken until late last night, so that put me behind schedule. It has been some months since I did the last part in my region series of outfits. I'm hoping to one day create an outfit for all of the regions of Eriador, and then move on to Rhovanion. I knew I wanted the base colors to be browns and greys. Even though Bree is a very beautiful region, the city is very simple in its colors, and I wanted to reflect that in the outfit. The hauberk/armour used in this outfit is a favorite of mine. It has leather and metal in it, and it dyes quite nicely. The shoulder-guards were easily chosen, as the brown in them matches the browns in the lower part of the hauberk, and it is quite a simple piece.  Simple boots and gloves were added, the gloves of a musty grey color, and the boots brown with white. I finished off with a piece from the Bree-land barter, a backpack, and a simple, metal ...

Recently on beta testing for update 14.2, I headed into Lalia's to make an outfit for one of my characters. I didn't really have a plan or idea for the outfit, but as I began assembling pieces, the outfit began to take on a specific feel and look. I realized I had been picking pieces that were, well, a bit mismatched, but mismatched in a good way. Some of the pieces have perhaps more of a armour feel, while others look almost velvety, and finally others are just more simple. I chose the robe first, as I had been wanting to use this robe for sometime now, and then started adding pieces that complimented the shades of black, grey, and cream. The gloves and shoulders were chosen because they both dyed well, and gave a velveteen look, and complimented the black in the bottom of the robe. The boots were the armour looking piece, and perhaps the wearer took them from a fallen solider, or bartered for them. The backpack really brought the whole outfit together, givin...

 The region of Angmar is filled with foul and horrible creatures; cargul, spiders, wargs, trolls... and much more. Carn Dum is the epitome of that evil. It is a dark place, with a poison green sky and foul air.  There are few who are brave enough to adventure into the dark of Carn Dum, but those who do are those who hold the evil at bay. I started off the with hauberk, which has a grey, black, and a yellowy-gold base. It has a very unique chest design, and that's what caught my eye in it. I then added the gloves and boots, both of which are fit for combat, and are black. The boots do have a small dagger placed on the side, for use if needed. The circlet is one of my favorite in-game, but usually it is so exspensive in the Auction Hall. I was lucky enough to find a cheap one, and I snatched it up quickly. While questing in Western Rohan during beta, I came across a town called Morton. This town is located just across the Fords of Isen, and it had been pillaged and burned. I hadn't before been planning on taking screenshots for the outfit I had created in this town, but suddenly the black and grey outfit seemed to make this man of Rohan apart of the town.  Since that time, I had written a sob story of a role-play background for this man of Rohan, featuring him mourning for the loss of his village. For this outfit, I started with a base of black and grey. The chest piece happens to have one of my favorite hauberk skins (and you should know my endless love of hauberks), featuring buckles and belts. The gauntlets were fingerless, with a metal base, buckles, and small daggers on them. The shoulders are hardy and ready for war, and are of an incredible design. It has recently come to my attention that a fellow cosmetic blogger posted an outfit recently (but before I posted this) that has the same name. I and my kinship did not realize this when we named this outfit. I would like to extend a very large thank you to Keldarah of Gladden for taking time away from playing the new update 14 content to let me take photos of her outfit. I would also like the thank my kinmates, the players of Rangers of the West kinship, for name suggestions for this outfit!   For quite sometime now, it has been a wish and a want of mine to feature other players designed outfits on my blog. The reason for that is quite simple: not every player who enjoys cosmetics wishes, wants, or has time to maintain a cosmetic blog. But that also means that their gorgeous outfits will not reach the general LOTRO public, and I believe that there are many incredible and gorgeous outfits that deserve a platform upon which others can see them. It has been quite sometime (since last year actually) that I made my last "Crafted Sets with Cosmetic Value" post, but it seemed about time I re-visited that subject.  I have recently been quite in love with the whole Elvish cosmetic look, and this set is perfectly Elvish. Soft lines, tons of leaf patterns... it is all there.   Starting from the top of the outfit down, lets start with the shoulder guards. They are of simple design, but have a arrow like pattern on them, with other bits of gold laced throughout. The chest-piece is lovely in design, highlighting a simple v-neck cut, and more gold banding.  The gloves and leggings follow the general simple and pretty design, soft curves with gold highlighting. I really like the leggings, due to the fact of how the design is. They have a skirt like overlay over the tighter thigh and calf area, which has different shapes of gold. Everyone has those days when they are bored and have too much time on their hands. Two days ago, that was the situation I was in. I was logged in on Makaia, and was looking through Lalia's Market, and did what I've done many times before: style outfits (that I cannot afford) with all the assorted pieces throughout the market. But then I thought to myself, "why in the world am I making these outfits, but doing nothing with them?". So, I decided to share with you guys three outfits I made.  The first outfit, shown above, is a little outfit I'm calling "Keeper of Stones". It is mainly inspired by the rune-keeper class (a class which I don't have.. sad, I know). The shoulder guards flowed so nicely into the robe, and I loved the simplicity of the outfit.
