Style of Middle-earth

When I was posting on this blog on a consistent basis, the  Region Series  was my favorite series I've ever worked on. I also had two other series' on this blog,  Crafted Sets with Cosmetic Value  and  Matching A Steed , but the region series was truly my favorite. There's something so magical about taking a region, an entire region, and trying to form an outfit inspired by that region. It is truly a difficult task. Every single region is so unique and diverse, and while it may maintain the same general feel, every single village or homestead within that region each has its own flair. It's odd that I chose Wildermore as the region to bring back this series with. All in all, it is one of my least favorite regions in the game. It is beautiful, yes, but it is incredibly desolate and forlorn. It has been over two years since I last made a post. Not only that, it has been two full years since I have made a brand new outfit in LoTRO from scratch. I wasn't planning on coming back to this blog, just because I group a lot more and primarily focus on end game content nowadays. But out of the blue came this outfit. I had been working on putting back together an old outfit but I was sent an idea for some Ost Dunhoth shoulders and before I knew it I had put together a corsair inspired ensemble.  The shoulders were the base piece for this outfit. I loved the fact that they still looked light, while having the wing like feel as well, which can be harder to find (think heavy Nadhin shoulders).  It was a gorgeous evening in Rohan as I rode my war-steed into Edoras. I had been planning on taking screenshots somewhere in Rohan with the outfit I had ready, but I didn’t know exactly where and when to take these screenshots. It was dusk, and it was the absolutely perfect time to be taking screenshots, especially with the outfit. This outfit was made with some imput from my younger brother, or else I probably wouldn’t have included a helmet in the outfit. my favorite screenshot to date.  This outfit was completely made using pieces that were in Lalia’s Market in June 2014. My brother chose the helm, and that is the piece that I based the whole outfit around. The colors of this outfit are gold, walnut brown, and umber. The helmet is extremely unique in design, with curled horn like spikes on the top, and plate metal (or gold?) on the cheeks. It has recently come to my attention that a fellow cosmetic blogger posted an outfit recently (but before I posted this) that has the same name. I and my kinship did not realize this when we named this outfit. I would like to extend a very large thank you to Keldarah of Gladden for taking time away from playing the new update 14 content to let me take photos of her outfit. I would also like the thank my kinmates, the players of Rangers of the West kinship, for name suggestions for this outfit!   For quite sometime now, it has been a wish and a want of mine to feature other players designed outfits on my blog. The reason for that is quite simple: not every player who enjoys cosmetics wishes, wants, or has time to maintain a cosmetic blog. But that also means that their gorgeous outfits will not reach the general LOTRO public, and I believe that there are many incredible and gorgeous outfits that deserve a platform upon which others can see them. I have started to realize how enjoyable the two earlier cosmetic value posts have been, and I have decided to continue the series with some of my absolute favorite cosmetics: one of the Rohan crafted sets. A little while ago, I decided to create a character on Landroval for the sole purpose of learning how to role-play. She is a race of man hailing from Rohan, specifically Snowbourn, and she loves animals, and is for that reason a lore-master. I've so far loved the community on Landroval, and I am really excited to experience more of it (and tons of it at Weatherstock on Saturday!) I don't think I would have ever shown this cosmetic set on this specific character, except for the kindness that was shown on someone who I consider my role-play mentor, and he offered to craft me this set.  Forochel has been a favorite region of mine for quite a while now - minus the frostbite causing water - and I like it because it is one of the few regions in Middle-earth that are completely covered in snow. From the people, to the landscape, to the monsters, it is very unique and interesting. The capitol of this frozen wasteland, Suri-kyla, rests in the northern part of the region, and boasts quite a lot of color to make up for the bleak and drab color of its surroundings. It has tons of blues and oranges, and loads of brown wood and such.  Generally speaking, this is my second outfit based off of a region. The first region based outfit was based off Angmar, and the link is right here.  I have been very excited to continue my use of wardrobe with this next outfit, even though I only used it for the shoulders. The inspiration for this outfit comes from the fields in the Shire, and harvest, even though it is nowhere near the autumn harvest. This seems an outfit a hobbit could wear while farming, or perhaps, eating what they farmed.  The circlet was chosen because of how at least part of the world is starting to bloom, and maybe the Shire is blooming too. The shoulders come from the gorgeous trees that are green, and the brown of the shoulders comes from the deep, rich soil. Evil has leaked out from Carn Dum, and has begun to spill into the surrounding lands as well, as the Witch King of Angmar continues his evil. I used to hate to head into Angmar for exactly the reason of how evil an area of Middle-earth is was, but now I have discovered that I actually like it more than I used to. This outfit could alternatively be named "Angmar", because Angmar is the main inspiration for this outfit. The brown dyes signify the dark, bleak, and desolate colors and landscape, and the bit of red in the outfit (the cape) represents the evil of Carn Dum.
